Bulk Export lets Zendesk admins export tickets, users and organisations to CSV files that open in Excel or Google Sheets. Exports run in the background and you get an email with a download link when the file is ready.
Who can use it
Only Zendesk admins can open Bulk Export and run exports. Anyone else who opens the app sees a message that it is available to admins only.
If you'd rather hide the app from other roles altogether, go to Admin Center > Apps and integrations > Apps > Zendesk Support apps, open Bulk Export, click Change settings and turn on Enable role restrictions. This is optional.
Install and connect
- Install Bulk Export from the Zendesk Marketplace.
- Open Bulk Export from the navigation bar in Zendesk Support.
- The first time, the app asks you to connect Zendesk. Click Connect Zendesk and approve read-only access in the tab that opens.
- Come back to the app. It finishes connecting on its own within a few seconds.
Connecting gives Gravity CX read-only access to your Zendesk data, so exports can run in the background even after you close the app. Bulk Export never changes anything in your Zendesk.
Your first export
The app opens on New export. Choose what to export, pick your filters and click Start export. The Summary panel on the right shows your choices and an estimate of how many records will be exported and how long it will take.
Next: Exporting tickets, users and organisations.
If the app asks you to reconnect
If you see Reconnect Zendesk, the connection has expired or was revoked in Zendesk. Click Reconnect Zendesk and approve access again. Scheduled exports are paused until you do.
