Search and filters run directly against Zendesk, so they find matches across your whole account, not just the records currently loaded in the table.
Search
Type in the search box at the top of the Users or Organizations tab. Results update a moment after you stop typing.
- Part of a name: type the start of a name, for example jo finds John and Joanne.
- Full name: type both words, for example Jane Smith, to match that exact name.
- Email or domain: type a full email address, or a domain such as example.com to find everyone at that company.
Filters for users
Click Filters to open the filter panel. Changes apply as you make them, and the table updates behind the panel. Click Done when you're finished.
- Role: end user, agent or admin.
- Organization: start typing to search all your organisations, or choose No Organization to find users without one.
- Tags: pick a tag from the list or type any tag name. Choosing several tags finds users with any of them. Choose No tags to find users without tags.
- Custom user fields: dropdown, checkbox, multi-select, text and number fields. Date, lookup and regex fields aren't supported yet.
Filters for organisations
On the Organizations tab, search by name and click Filters to filter by tag.
Working with active filters
Each active filter appears as a chip next to the Filters button. Click the x on a chip to remove that filter, or click Clear all to start again.
How many results you'll see
Each search loads up to 5,000 matching records into the table. The line under the search box shows the full count, for example 5,000 of 8,232 matching users loaded. If more records match than are loaded, you can:
- add a search term or filter to narrow the list, or
- use Select all matching to edit, delete or export every match. See Bulk editing and deleting users and organisations.
Recently changed records
Zendesk search can take a few minutes to catch up after records change. If a user you just edited doesn't match a filter yet, wait a few minutes and click Refresh.
